How do I stop a Progress Monitoring session for my student?

Progress monitoring sessions in Classworks automatically end after 12 weeks. Teachers also have the option to end a session early if an instructional or intervention change is needed, allowing them to more efficiently monitor the effectiveness of instruction.

Step-by-Step Guidance

In the Progress Monitoring tab, use the toggle on the left to select the subject you want the student to stop Progress Monitoring (Mathematics or Language Arts), and then click the Stop button

  • In the sample below, the teacher acts to end Lise Meitner's progress monitoring session.
  • The teacher clicks the word Stop next to Lise's name.

A new window opens.

  • The teacher adds a brief description of why the session is being ended early
    • This narrative adds context and keeps all members of the student's support team informed.
    • The description will appear on Progress Monitoring Results reports.
  • Click "Start a new session after stopping this one" to set up the new session immediately.
  • Click "Stop" to end this session.

Ended sessions cannot be restarted. A new session can be created at the same level and focused on the same content. All progress monitoring data is retained throughout the school year.

Lise's teacher chose not to start a new session immediately.

After reviewing additional data and talking with Lise's support team and caregivers, the teacher was ready to start a new session.

The teacher navigated to the Progress Monitoring screen, located Lise, and clicked Start to begin a Progress Monitoring session.
