How do I use assessment partner (NWEA, Star, or iReady) data to determine progress monitoring level?
Many districts choose to integrate results from partner assessments, including NWEA, STAR, and iREADY into Classworks.
- When this data is available, student results are seen on these screens:
- Progress Monitoring: Percentile Rank and MTSS Tier Recommendation
- Student Detail: Date of administration, score details, and grade level equivalent(s)
- The results available are dependent on which partner assessment the district has activated.
NWEA MAP Growth

- Use the Dropdown menu to select NWEA Growth: This automatically updates the data on the screen.
- Hover over the recommended tier section to view a summary of this student's performance
In the sample below, you can see that Grace completed the MAP with a score of 188. This score suggests the "On Watch" level of support (25th - 40th percentile)

Student Detail screen
- Click the student's name to open the student detail screen
- Select Additional Test Data to view the date the student completed the MAP, their overall and domain-specific results
In the sample below, you can see that Grace completed the MAP on January 9th and earned an overall score of 188. Grace earned her highest score in the Vocabulary Domain, scoring 192.

Renaissance Learning Star

In the sample below, you can see that Michael completed the Star with a score that correlates to the "Urgent Intervention" level of support (1st - 10th percentile)

- Select Additional Test Data to view the date the student completed the Star, their unified score, percentile rank, and grade level equivalency.
In the sample below, you can see that Michael completed the Star on December 3rd and earned a unified score of 1030, performed in the 20th percentile, and has a grade level equivalency of 5.4.
