How do I assign the Universal Screener?
Good news — teachers do not need to assign the Universal Screener to students!
If your district administrator has enabled the Universal Screener, students will automatically have access to the assessment when they log into Classworks during an active testing window. There’s no additional setup required by teachers.
How it works:
- Students log into Classworks.
- If the Universal Screener is active, they can take the assessment under the subject and My Screener section.
- Students are allowed up to five (5) attempts to complete the Universal Screener during each testing window (confirm with your district administrator, as policies may vary).
What is a testing window?
A testing window is a specific period of time set by your district when students are allowed to complete their Universal Screener assessments.
If a student logs in outside of an active testing window, they will not see the screener available.
Tip: If a student does not see the screener, check with your district administrator to confirm that:
- The testing window is currently open.
- The student is assigned to the correct Universal Screener.
