How do I customize a student's Individualized Learning Path?

Each student's Individualized Learning Path (ILP) is generated based on their assessment data. Teachers and other instructional staff can customize or update the instructional units within an ILP by adding or removing units from the path and by reassigning units to offer students an additional opportunity to complete a specific unit.

Step-by-Step Guidance

Navigate to the Individualized Learning screen, select the class the student is enrolled in, and click on the student's name.

Navigate to the Individualized Learning tab on the student detail screen

Select the appropriate content area (Language Arts or Mathematics)

Notice that the 2 Tabs: Recommended Skills and All Skills

• Recommended Skills: Units currently included on the student's ILP
• All Skills: Complete list of all units available - includes units not presently assigned to the student

Reassign Instructional Units

Use the Recommended Skills tab

Notice the blue and grey toggle next to each instructional unit,

• Blue = the unit is active, and the student will complete it or complete it again
• Grey = the unit is inactive - the student has already completed it, and it has not been reassigned

Choose to reassign the entire instructional unit or specific activities within the unit

Click the toggle from Grey to Blue to reassign the whole unit

To reassign specific activities, click on the Plus + sign

• The Unit expands with a list of all activities
• Click the toggle next to the particular activities you'd like to reassign

Add Instructional Units

Use the All Skills tab

All Units are included in this list

• Performance Data is shown if the student has already completed a particular unit
• A Blue Toggle indicates the unit is currently active in the student's ILP
• To add a unit to the student's ILP, click the grey toggle to turn it blue

Remove Instructional Units

Use the Recommended Skills tab

Locate the blue and grey toggle next to the instructional unit you'd like to remove from the student's ILP

Click the toggle to change it from blue to grey. It will then be removed from the list of Recommended Skills. You can still see that skill unit on the All Skills tab
