How do I create a new class?

Classes can be created from the Individualized Learning, Progress Monitoring, and Classes screen.

Step-by-Step Guidance

  • Select "Create Class" at the top of the screen to begin the process.

Name the Class

  • The class name will appear on printed reports.
  • Check with your building or district administrator to see if there are any specific guidelines or naming conventions.

Elementary Grade Level, Teacher Last Name, First Initial, Content Area or Homeroom

  • Enter your Class Name and Choose an Icon

  • Classes can be created to monitor progress for students within specific demographic subgroups.
  • Semester-length (trimester, academic quarter): add a designation for this to the class name. For a 1st semester class, an example would be: JacksonP Alg1 per 2 S1

Designate Teacher and Add Co-Teachers

The name connected to the logged-in account will automatically populate as the primary teacher.

Click Add Co-Teacher to:

  • Change the Primary Teacher
  • Add Co-Teachers to the class. Co-Teachers have the same permissions as the primary teacher.

  • Search for and select staff members as co-teachers
  • Click Add at the bottom of the screen

Add Students

Click Add Student

  • Search for and select students to add to your class roster
    • Use the grade level dropdown menu
    • Enter part of the student's name in the appropriate box
    • Click Search

Review and Save the Class Roster


  • Review the class roster information and make corrections (if needed)
  • Click Save at the bottom of the screen to create your class
