What is the Classworks Data Export?
As a District Administrator, you can download all of your Classworks usage data for the current school year, or for specific dates. The Data Export provides CSV files with assessment and instruction summary data for schools and students. You may need this to show growth on Classworks assessments from one year to the next, or even to see how much Classworks usage there was across schools, grade levels, and subjects.
Downloading the export and generating reports before the New School Year process helps ensure you retain both raw data and meaningful visual records from the current school year.
Key Points to Remember
- Download the export before you complete the New Year process, as this process deletes all data in the Classworks manager.
- The export includes a set of .csv spreadsheet files that can serve as a long-term data archive.
- You can complete the export at any time during the school year.
- Generate reports before the school year ends to retain formatted graphs, tables, and other visual representations.
- Complete all exports and reports before the “New School Year” database rollover and setup process.
Step-by-Step Guidance
Log in to your Classworks database and then click on your name in the top right corner of the screen.

Locate 'Manage Classworks' in the dropdown menu and click

Locate the 'Utilities' tab along the top of the screen and click

By default, this data export includes all data from the start of the current school year through the current date. If desired, you can adjust the date range using the dropdown menus and then click 'Export Now.'

A pop-up will appear in the top right corner that says "Data export queued. An email will be sent when finished."
