How do I use the information on the Individualized Learning Insights?

To measure or monitor your Classworks adoption by identifying:

  • How many and which students are working on their Learning Paths in Classworks
  • How much time are they spending on their skills
  • Which domains are being practiced
  • Which skills are being mastered

As an administrator, this dashboard has automatically been added to your Insights page.

These reports are not available at the teacher level.

Subject Level Overview

High-level statistics

Student Count - number of students who've worked on their ILP during the time period

Student Average Time-on-Task - average time spent by student (shown in minutes)

Total Skills - count of completed units within the time period

Skills Mastered - count of units completed with a final score of 80% or higher

Mastery Ratio - Percentage of mastered units. (skills mastered divided by total skills)

Unit Average Time-on-Task: average minutes spent on each unit of instruction.

School Summary

Detailed completion and achievement data are shown

The schools displayed depend on the account settings of the administrator who has logged into Classworks.

Multiple schools are shown for district-level administrators and staff whose accounts include admin access to multiple school sites.

Individual Schools and Grade-Levels

  • Student Count: Number of students in that grade level who completed work within the selected time period
  • Mastery Ratio: Percentage of units with final scores of 80% or greater
  • Average Score: Average final score
  • Average Time-on-Task: Average number of minutes spent by each student during the selected time period.

Skill Count Bar Graph

Reading the Graph

  • Horizontal bar graph by grade level
  • Compare the total number of completed and mastered skills across grade levels
    • Completed (Blue)= Earned a final score less than 80%
    • Mastered (Green) = Earned a final score equal to or greater than 80%
  • Hover over a section of a bar to see specific data

What to Look For

  • Compare actual achievement with Classworks Best Practice Recommendations
    • Students should earn an 80% or higher final score because the instruction on their ILP is at their performance level
      • Look at the sample graph below: 6th and 7th-grade students are not mastering as many units as 8th-grade students
      • Look at 8th grade: Notice that the blue section of the bar is much smaller than the green section - even though these students haven't completed as many units as the other grades, they are earning 80% on a large percentage of their completed units.
    • Students should complete between 1 and 2 units (skills) weekly
      • Look at the sample graph and notice that the horizontal axis counts the total number of units completed so far this school year. 5th-grade students have completed more units than the other grade levels.
      • Is this because more 5th graders are working consistently?
      • Is this because the teachers have established consistent routines or incentives?
      • How can this be used to help teachers of other grade levels?

Average Time-on-Task Bar Graph

Reading the Graph

  • Horizontal bar graph by grade level
  • Compare the average time spent on ILPs across grade levels
  • Displayed in minutes
  • Hover over a section to see specific data

What to Look For

  • Compare actual achievement with Classworks Best Practice Recommendations
    • Students should spend at least 30 minutes on their ILP each week. Students receiving Tier 2 or Tier 3 intervention supports should spend between 45 and 60 minutes weekly.
      • Look at the sample graph below: On average, the 4th-grade students have spent the most time working on their ILPs
      • Look at the 3rd-grade data: These students have spent an average of 382 minutes so far this school year.
        • Divide the average Time-on-Task by the week number of the school year.
        • The quotient is the average number of minutes these students worked on their ILPs each week.
        • Example: Let's say this graph is from the last week of January (at the beginning of the 2nd semester) or week 19 of the school year. 382/19 = 20.1. This means that 3rd graders are working on their ILPs an average of 20 minutes each week.

Skill Distribution

Reading the Graph

  • The pie chart shows a breakdown or distribution of the units completed by instructional domain
  • Hover over a section of the pie chart to view specific data

What to Look For

  • Look at the sample below: Notice that the Operations and Numeration sections are the largest. 26% of all units completed are related to the Operations domain.

Domain Detail

Reading the Table

  • Each domain is listed in the first column
  • Students - shows the count of students who've completed at least one unit
  • Total Units - shows the total number of units completed in that domain
  • Units Mastered - shows the number of completed units where the final grade is ≥80%
  • Average Total Time-on-Task Minutes - shows the average number of minutes spent completing units in the domain
  • Average Percentage Score - shows the average score earned on the completed units

What to Look For

  • Consider how the domains are weighted on your end-of-year test.
    • Are students completing units in the heaviest weighted domains?
    • Are they earning an 80% or better on these skills?

Mastery By Grade Level

Reading the Table

  • Domains are listed in the first column
  • Enrolled grade levels are shown across the first row
  • The percentage of mastered units (scores of ≥80%) is shown

What to Look For

  • What domains show consistent mastery across grade levels?
  • Are grade levels achieving mastery targets, especially for heavily weighted domains?

Time-on-Task by Grade Level (minutes)

Reading the Table

  • Domains are listed in the first column
  • Enrolled grade levels are shown across the first row
  • The total number of minutes spent completing units in each domain is shown for each grade level

What to Look For

  • What domains show consistent time-on-task across grade levels?
  • Are grade levels spending adequate time working in each domain, especially for heavily weighted domains?
