What is the difference between Instructional and Manual Mode?
- Instructional Mode means that students start at the Mini-Lesson and complete the activities in order ending with the Quick Quiz
- Manual Mode means that students can complete the tasks in any order they wish. Even completing the Quick Quiz first.
Instructional Mode vs. Manual Mode
- Instructional Mode is the default setting and is recommended for most assignments.
- Manual Mode is the default setting for Integrated Reading and Applied Math materials - this allows teachers to direct students to specific passages or problem sets.
Modifying the Mode
- From the Classes Tab, click on the class that contains the assignment. Locate the specific assignment on the Instruction Sub Tab.
- Under the Mode Column, click the "I" button to change it to "M" or vice versa.

- To change the mode for specific students, expand the assignment by clicking on the + symbol beside the assignment name.


Once you've made your changes, click Save at the bottom!
