Classworks integrates with Renaissance via the Renaissance Growth Partner Platform. This includes Star Reading, Star Math, and Early Literacy assessments. The enhanced alliance between Renaissance and Classworks leverages cutting-edge interoperability to allow Classworks Individualized Learning Paths to be automatically generated and assigned to students based on Renaissance’s learning progressions and the skills identified as needing work. Renaissance assessment data will sync into the Classworks nightly.
By using assessment data from assessments like Renaissance’s Star to individualize learning, Classworks can provide relevant instruction for every student, giving them the exact skills they need at the level they need them. The integration with Star data inside Classworks instruction eliminates the need for an additional assessment for students.
You're probably familiar with the Renaissance Core Progressions.
Renaissance Learning sends Classworks a placement point along their Renaissance Learning Progression. Classworks then takes that placement point and assigns the next ten skills in the Classworks Learning Progression to students based on that placement point.
The assignments are based on the skills the student is ready to learn according to their entry point. Students immediately engage in Classworks research-based instruction matched to their needs.
See the example below.
Test Name: Renaissance Star Math
Placement Point: Represent measurement data with a line plot that has a fractional scale to eighths
Classworks Aligned Units:
After the Star results have been processed into Classworks, and individualized learning paths have been updated, you can review students’ results using the Classworks dashboard. Since Classworks aligns instruction to create learning paths for each student, this information is used to match the right instruction for the student as part of their ILP. Once learning paths have been generated using the Star results, students can begin working on their instruction.
When using Renaissance Star assessment data to drive lessons, teachers have the option of further refining the instruction by customizing what units or activities the student receives. Teachers know their students best, which is why Classworks gives them the ability to refine and make decisions.
