Once Individualized Learning Paths have been created for students, users will be able to easily monitor progress and status, as well as view and customize what is a part of their individualized learning. All of this will be done from the Individualized Learning tab.

Monitoring ILPs

Depending on what you are looking for, there are several ways someone may monitor progress and status on ILPs.

Monitoring Big Picture Usage Through the Dashboard

After logging into Classworks, users are presented with their dashboard. There are different widgets available that show big picture data for a particular time period.

To access the widget for Individualized Learning: 

1) After logging in, click on + Add Widget from the Dashboard (top right corner).

2) Out beside Individualized Learning, click Add Widget.

3) The widget is now added to your dashboard. You will be able to view each school within the district, Time on Task, and Averages based on your criteria. You have the option to look at overall usage or subject specific usage. You can also choose to view by the day, week, or month. This information can help you see the big picture usage and averages of the students in your district.

Using the Filter

Once you get to the Individualized Learning tab you are presented with a filter that lets you narrow down the students you would like to monitor. As an administrator, you would be able to choose a school and view all of the students that are enrolled. As a teacher, you would only have access to the students enrolled in your particular school. You can apply several filters at once to really narrow down your results.


School: Teacher users will have access to students in their school only. Administrative users will have access to all of the schools in the district.

Grade: Search for any grade Pre-K through 12. This reflects the grade the student is enrolled in Classworks as.

Class: Class gives you a list of all of the classes that have been created in Classworks for your selected school.

Custom Group: If you have any custom groups created, they will show up here as a filter option.

Last Name: If searching for a particular student, you can search for them by their last name.

First Name: If searching for a particular student, you can search for them by their first name.

ILP Average: Allows you to filter by students that are above, below, or equal to a particular ILP average. 

ILP Subject: Allows you to select a specific subject, either Language Arts or mathematics.

ILP Status: This allows you to view students in the results that fall in one of 4 different ILP status options: Active, Creating, Finished, and No ILP.

Assessment Results: This Lets you search for students that do or do not have assessment results available.

Monitoring Student Individualized Learning

1) Navigate to the Individualized Learning tab.

2) Select the filter(s) you would like to use.

3) You will be presented with a list of students that met your filter criteria. You can easily see the ILP status for each student, their average on work completed in their ILP for each subject, and Time on Task spent in each subject.

4) After clicking apply you are also presented with a summary of all of the students that met your criteria. For each subject you can see the total number of skills assigned, the completed units within each strand, and time on task in each strand for Mathematics and/or Language Arts.

The time on task reflects the time spent working on units within the strand. Units may be aligned to multiple strands. This is not cumulative time on task.

5) You can add additional filter categories to refine further or click the Reset button to start over with the filters.

Customizing Student Individualized Learning

You are able to view or customize an Individualized Learning Path for a particular student if desired.

1) After navigating to the Individualized Learning tab and applying your filter options, you are presented with a list of students that met your criteria. 

2) Next to a student's name, click the Active button for a particular subject to see what makes up that ILP.

3) You will see a popup showing you all of the summary information for that student's ILP, as well as what assignments are a part of it, the assessment they were generated from, the date it was created, their average, and time on task.

The time on task reflects the time spent working on units within the strand. Units may be aligned to multiple strands. This is not cumulative time on task.

4) To turn off a particular assignment simply click the toggle button beside its name. It will slide the bar from the right to the left.

5) To view the units that make up a particular assignment in an ILP, click on the name of the assignment.

6) This popup shows all of the units in an ILP. If a student has been working in it, items may be marked as completed and averages and time on task may be available. You can click the + next to a unit to view all of the unit components.

7) To re-assign a unit or component(s), click to change the status from Completed to Assigned.

8) To skip a unit or activity for the student, change the status from Assigned to Skipped.

9) After making any changes, click Save. If no changes were made, click Cancel.

10) If you are done viewing or customizing a student's ILP, you can click X Close. These changes will save automatically.
