Assessment Integrations

Overview
Classworks Assessment Integration allows district administrative users to set up third party assessment results for use in Classworks. These assessment results can be used to create individualized learning for students. 

There are two different types of assessment integrations within Classworks: 
• Assessment Upload Integration 
• Assessment API Integration

Getting Started (both Integration types)

1After logging in as a district administrator, click the user dropdown menu and select Administration.

2Select the Utilities tab.

3From the menu on the left, select Integrations Directory.


Depending on the Integration type you are looking for, jump to the section for your particular assessment (Assessment Upload or API Integration).


Assessment Upload Integration

4Click the link for Upload out beside the name of your assessment.

5All uploads require users to:
Select the field to match users in the file
Upload data file for processing (as a .csv file)

Note: NWEA MAP and ACT Aspire users will start by selecting the edition of their assessment.

6After completing the required steps, click Upload.

7You will be taken to the History screen and receive a message: Data Processing. See log for more information.

The upload will be ready in less than 24 hours.


API Integration: Scantron Performance Series

4Click the link for Edit out beside the name of your assessment

Note: These Steps are for Scantron Performance Series users. See below for Renaissance Learning STAR. 

5Provide your Performance Series Site ID (10 Digit ID)

Enter your Scantron username and password then click Connect to Scantron.

If everything is correct, it will say, “Account is working” If you don’t receive this message, double check your Scantron credentials. If you continue to have a problem, you may have to contact Scantron’s support team.

6Match Schools from Scantron

Click Configure Matching to pull up a window that lets you match fields with Scantron and Classworks – Then click Save.

7Select Classworks field for user matching

You can match by Username, District User ID, State User ID, Alternate User ID, or Email.

8Turn on Scantron Integration – Check the box to enable

Classworks will now attempt to import the data daily between 6pm-11pm (Pacific Time).


API Integration: Renaissance STAR

Note: These Steps are for Reanaissance STAR users. See above for Scantron Performance Series. 

5Authorize Renaissance Place to share data with Classworks

You will need contact Renaissance Learning before setting up this integration. Once you have, check the box.

6Provide your STAR Credentials to authorize access to Classworks

Enter your ID and click Authorize Classworks.

7Matchup Schools from STAR Assessments

Click Configure Matching to pull up a window that lets you match fields with STAR and Classworks – Then click Save.

8Set synchronization schedule

From the dropdown box, select the time that Classworks will attempt to import data, daily.

9Set Renaissance Place and Classworks fields for user matching

Use the dropdown boxes to match user ID fields.

10Turn on STAR Assessments Integration – Check the box to enable

Classworks will now use your settings to import data from Renaissance learning each day.


History Log
The History Log (accessible from the Integrations Directory out beside the name of the Assessment) will give you details about the upload/sync history, including: Success Details, Start Date/Time, Complete Date/Time, and a Message Log for each.

Summary
By setting up your third party assessments in Classworks, students can have individualized learning created for them in Classworks using information from their assessment scores.
